NUS ADVANCED BATTERY LAB
Since its creation, CA2DM has made a significant investment into researching and developing the next generations of battery technology. Our teams have developed a global expertise in battery materials and battery prototyping, with an unrivalled know-how on chemistry variants using carbon additives, such as graphene.
In 2023, the Centre inaugurated a brand new laboratory, the NUS Advanced Battery Lab. Designed around the concept of experimental versatility required by a variety of battery chemistries, the NUS Advanced Battery Lab places a heavy R&D emphasis on the next generations of batteries, including enhanced lithium-ion, lithium sulfur, sodium ion, and solid state.
The laboratory is composed of four related experimental areas that covers the entire cell production and validation cycle: electrodes preparation, cells assembly, electrolyte filling and cells sealing, and cell performance and testing.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT AREAS
- Battery product development decision guidance for a variety of chemistries
- Development of new electrode, separator and electrolyte materials
- Optimization of battery materials and chemical properties
- Process setup and optimization to prepare electrodes and cells
- Cell performance and advanced cell testing protocols
