Congratulations to Mr. Ang Han Siong!

The Centre for Advanced 2D Materials extends its heartiest congratulations to Mr. Ang Han Siong for being awarded the 2021 National Day Commendation Medal*.

Han Siong joined CA2DM in June 2011 and was tasked with the challenging goal of building a state-of-the-art nano-fabrication facility for graphene device fabrication, the first in the world, and put together a team of technicians to assist in running it. Today, the facility has not only supported the work of thousands of students, engineers and scientists, it was also featured in a specialized magazine as a gold standard, making Singapore a place of excellence in graphene nano-fabrication. His leadership, both in building the facility which now stands as a showcase resource for CA2DM and NUS, and in training the next generation of technical experts, has earned him the national recognition in 2021 through the award of the 2021 National Day Commendation Medal. 

*The National Day Commendation Medal is awarded to recipients who have devoted at least 10 years of service to the organisation and demonstrated efficiency, competence and devotion to duty for special performance under difficult circumstances. He/she should also have demonstrated dedication, enthusiasm and commitment the profession and possess good supervisory skill and an ability to promote team work.
