Building a Culture of Safety and Well-being: CA2DM’s Commitment to the NUS Total Workplace Safety and Health (Total WSH) Framework

At the NUS Centre for Advanced 2D Materials (CA2DM), fostering a safe, healthy, and enabling work environment is a shared responsibility—and one that we take seriously. As part of our ongoing commitment to workplace excellence, today’s CA2DM Townhall brought colleagues together to strengthen our understanding of the NUS Total Workplace Safety and Health (Total WSH) Framework and to align our internal practices with the wider safety and well-being standards set by the National University of Singapore (NUS).

The townhall served as both a platform for learning and a catalyst for action. Through thoughtful discussions and active engagement, we explored how the principles of Total WSH—encompassing both physical safety and holistic well-being—can be integrated into our daily operations. Clear expectations and deliverables were outlined to ensure that every team and individual has a role to play in this important endeavour.

Our focus is not solely on compliance, but on creating a workplace culture where safety, health, and productivity go hand in hand. By embedding these principles into the way we work, we invest in the long-term sustainability of our research efforts and the well-being of our community.

This session marks the start of a broader journey. As we move ahead, CA2DM will continue to engage staff at all levels, adopt best practices, and champion a workplace environment where every individual feels supported, safe, and empowered to do their best work.

Let’s continue building this culture—together.
