Abstract Details: In the present work we explain the hour-glass magnetic dispersion in underdoped cuprates. The dispersion arises due to an interplay of the Lifshitz-type magnetic criticality and superconductivity. We provide a unified picture of the evolution of magnetic excitations in various cuprate families, including “hour-glass” and “wine glass” dispersions and emergent static incommensurate order. Besides explaining existing data on magnetic dispersion we propose a neutron scattering experiment that can directly test the developed theory.
