The objective of the "Recent Progress in Graphene Research" (RPGR) conference is to bring together theorists, experimentalists, and entrepreneurs, to disseminate and discuss their latest results in the area of graphene. RPGR brings together the most important scientists in this area, with special focus on Asia.

On the 12th of June 2012, the official inauguration of the Graphene Research Centre's Micro and Nano-Fabrication Facility was covered and reported in various national, international, and online media outlets.
