Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin – NUS - Call for Joint Research Projects 2015

Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin (HU) and the National University of Singapore Call for Joint Research Projects aims to foster new collaborative initiatives in research, preferably inter-disciplinary, between Germany and Singapore. This call builds on the diversity of its partners to promote durable cooperation across disciplines.  Preference will be given to proposals that will build sustainable links between HU and NUS.

Eligibility
The call for Joint Research Projects is open to researchers in all disciplines.  Projects must be led jointly by full-time HU or NUS faculty members on tenure track.  Projects must be presented jointly by at least one faculty member from HU and one faculty member from NUS, with a balanced representation of scholars from both institutions.    

Funding
Each project will be funded at a maximum funding of €30,000 (equivalent to SGD 50,000) for one year.  Additionally, graduate student exchanges which takes place within the projects can be funded up to a maximum of €5,000 (equivalent to SGD 8,000), for a minimum duration of one month.

The proposals may include

  • Thematic workshops with graduate students, researchers, staff and faculty members from both institutions
  • Joint conferences and seminars
  • Travel allowances for HU faculty wishing to spend significant time at NUS, or vice versa, as part of a research project
